Obama and jobs

When I posted yesterday and mentioned Obama's new tour buses, I thought, great, he bought and had them made here in the U.S.  Today, I find out that these buses was actually made in Canada.  You can read the story here.  That made me stop and think.

Obama has been talking about creating, or "saving" jobs here in this country, since 2009.  So, I got to looking.  Let's take a look at things.  Pelosi stated that unemployment benefits create jobs.  Obamacare is suppose to create jobs.  Let's not forget the Recovery Act.  One of the jobs, who received millions of taxpayer dollars is now going bankrupt.  Read the story here.

Now let's get more current.  Obama's "Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the Obama administration has a jobs program already in place — and it’s food stamps."   You can read the story and watch the video here.  More of our tax dollars.

Speaking of tax dollars.  Remember WE bailed out GM.  Now GM is going to "reopen Indonesia plant, create 800 jobs.".  Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside that this is the way we get repaid for helping out GM.

Now, on day 938 he claims he will have a "jobs plan in a month or so."  Now, makes you wonder what he has in mind.  Well, according to reports, there is a plan to eliminate certain tax loopholes, major investments in bridge, road, sewer and port repairs, heard that before.  Obama "has asked Congress to approve an infrastructure “bank’’ that would use $30 billion in public money to help attract private contributions that would finance needed public works programs."  "Rendell laid out a few other ideas. He would expand the pool of AmeriCorps national service jobs. To put construction workers back on the job, he would also have the government fix up foreclosed homes and rent them out. Any rental income would help offset the rehab costs."

I mentioned the Recovery Act above.  Remember the "shovel ready jobs"

Let's not forget about Obama's dedication to jobs.
