Green jobs

Today I read an article where Obama plans to invest in more green jobs.  You can read the story here.   According to the article "Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says he is “sure” President Obama will offer specific proposals for boosting energy-related jobs in next week’s big speech on job creation."

Let's take a look at what investing in "green jobs" has done so far.  According to an article written on August 22, 2011: "A federal stimulus grant of nearly $500,000 to grow trees and stimulate the economy in Nevada yielded a whopping 1.72 jobs, according to government statistics."

"In 2009, the U.S. Forest Service awarded $490,000 of stimulus money to Nevada's Clark County Urban Forestry Revitalization Project, aimed at revitalizing urban neighborhoods in the county with trees, plants, and green-industry training. "  Read the story here.

Let's not forget about an article written on January 14, 2011.  According to the article: "Aided by at least $43 million in assistance from the government of Massachusetts and an innovative solar energy technology, Evergreen Solar emerged in the last three years as the third-largest maker of solar panels in the United States."

"But now the company is closing its main American factory, laying off the 800 workers by the end of March and shifting production to a joint venture with a Chinese company in central China. Evergreen cited the much higher government support available in China."  Read the article here.

In an article written on February 10, 2010 states: "The Investigative Reporting Workshop, a project of American University, reveals that the lion’s share of the more than $2 billion the Obama Administration promised would boost the economy and create green-energy jobs at home has gone instead to foreign-owned companies"  Read the article here.

I would like to point out that if wind farms are what are being considered here, you may want to watch the following videos.  Our politicians point out how great wind farms and other "green energy" is so great, but, what they won't tell you is the damage it causes.
