Last night the S & P downgraded the credit rating of the United States. You can read the report here. Is it a surpise to anyone? After all we have borrowed so much money and our politicians have gone crazy with spending.
Our future may look gloomy and depressing, but, WE can change it. In the last 60 days the amount of regulations that have gone into effect is staggering. What does this mean to us? Higher prices in everything. You can see how many regulations and what they mean here.
What can WE do to change the direction this country is going in? We need to prepare ourselves, and our children for the worst, hope for the best, keep up to date on what is going on and how it affects us. Get involved by voiceing your opinion with your politician. Get educated on the canidates running for office and select the one that has the creditials you are looking for.
Are we willing to make the sacrifices that are necessary to save future generations, or are we too greedy? I know many parents that would risk their lives for their children, but, scream when it comes to their Social Security and Medicare. Yes, we paid into it and we should get our benefits, but, would it really hurt us to postpone these benefits for 6 months or a year? If it would take some of the burden off my children and grandchildren so they could have the life that I have enjoyed, the answer is a no brainer.
We the people need to take control of our lives, our futures, the future of our children, and put priorties in order. We cannot and should not depend on our government. We need to resurrect and re-learn how to use "common sense".
If you want to begin educating yourself on how our money is spent, this will be a good start for you and an eye opener. The President's budget for 2012
